What is wellbeing?

Wellbeing Wendouree is a community owned and managed organisation that has formed out of the Wendouree West Community Renewal Process. Wellbeing Wendouree is an organisation that concentrates on community development and empowerment. We aim to increase physical activity and general Wellbeing in the Wendouree West Community. To achieve this we focus on health promotion and education which encourage positive life choices to further our participants opportunities. We work to provide Physical activity programs, social inclusion and  a level playing field to access services that peoples financial and social circumstances may restrict them from accessing.

The History of Wellbeing Wendouree.

In 2004 the Wendouree West Community Renewal advertised jobs in organising physical activity programs and events.
Out of the applicants three young women were employed Emma Gallagher, Kirstie Clark and Sally Miller.

With the assistance of the YMCA and member of the Wendouree West Community Renewal these three young women continued to organise and promote events
and activities in the Wendouree West Area.

Sally Miller was employed with Wellbeing Wendouree for 2 years and undertook lifeguard training, she then went on to do lifeguarding and Vocational Care in Ballarat.
Sally has recently returned from her second round of Camp America where she has made many friends.

Emma Gallagher is still employed with Wellbeing Wendouree, she has completed her Cert III in fitness and is currently studying Cert IV.
Emma has run many physical activity circuits with Wellbeing Wendouree, as well as lots of other events and activities.
After completion of her Cert IV in Fitness we will be looking for Emma to work in our community gym.

Kirstie Clark is still employed with Wellbeing Wendouree and is now in the Executive Officer role after completing her Cert IV in Community Services through a traineeship with Wellbeing Wendouree.
Kirstie is also currently studying a Bachelor in Communications majoring in Public Relations.
