Arts Academy
The University
of Ballarat's Camp St Campus is home of the Arts Academy. Most of the visual and
performing arts programs are offered from this site.
A range of
courses are offered at both TAFE and
Higher Education levels.
Current Year 12 students and others
eligible should
apply through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC).
Mature Age students and all other applicants should
contact the Arts Academy for
application criteria and procedures.
Ballarat Begonia Festival
Ballarat is home to one of the most
spectacular Begonia displays you are ever likely to see. An
annual festival is
held to celebrate the Begonias. Enjoy music, performances, entertainment and
learning about gardening and horticulture.
The festival is held in March every year.
Ballarat Community Arts Calendar
Information about time, dates, venues and costs etc.
for festivals and special events, performing arts, visual arts, music, film and
multimedia, and literature. Also has information about the hiring of venues,
industry news and tips, classes and workshops, meetings and art groups,
professional development and grants.
Ballarat Fine Art Gallery
The Ballarat Fine Art Gallery is
Australia's oldest and largest regional art gallery. The
collection spans early
colonial works through to contemporary art, with collections of works on paper,
decorative arts, costume and sculpture. Come in and see them for yourself, or
sit here and take a
virtual tour of the gallery. The Gallery is
open most days, with a small
entrance fee. The Gallery also caters for
wheelchair access.
Grainery Lane
Theatre Shows,
Exhibitions, Raves, Functions, Rehearsals, Workshops, All ages, and Gigs. The
building houses a diverse range of arts and community projects each year
providing a venue for contemporary theatre, visual arts, music and basically any
hairbrain scheme people want to try out. For more information contact the

Her Majesty's Theatre
Her Majesty's is owned and operated by the
City of Ballarat as Ballarat's primary focus for the enjoyment of the performing
arts. There are many
shows and productions throughout the year, and
tickets may
be purchased in person or online.
Royal South Street Society
"The Royal South Street Society" conducts
annual competitions in many different performance disciplines, eg Calisthenics,
The Herald Sun Aria, Dance.

The Ballarat Lyric Theatre are involved in

Mayte Youth Theatre Inc
Mayte was established in 1999, by Her Majesty's Theatre Ballarat, Victoria,
Australia. The group is now run by young people, for young people, to improve
their access to and involvement in the Performing Arts.
The Actors Cafe

Actors Cafe was established in 1995 by Aussie Actor, writer, director and
producer Matt Norman. It is involved in many
productions and offers different
