Employment & Learning Coordinator
The Employment & Learning Coordinator's position
is a resource for developing strategies to
improve employment and learning outcomes in Neighbourhood Renewal areas, and is
not intended for the direct delivery of case management employment services.
Rather, as a component of this role, to develop local mechanisms that better
support engagement of residents to increase employment and learning
opportunities.
Career Guidance
Free career guidance is available at the Commonwealth
Rehabilitation Service. If you are in Job Search Training, the trainer can
arrange it. Otherwise, Centrelink's JET Officer can help, call Jenny on (03) 5336
5140 for more information.
Job Network
The Job Network has services to help you to find and keep a job through Job Matching, Job Search
Training and Intensive Support. The Job Network can also help you if you want to
start your own business or you have an idea for a new business.If
you register as a job seeker with Centrelink and then select a Job Network
Member, you may be eligible for up to $800 in training funds. Can also link you
into a free career counselling service.

Telstra's Incontact Service
You can have an

to certain conditions, among which are: no other phone on the premises or

The Smith Family
"Learning for Life": Assistance with paying for
uniforms, books, stationary, camps, excursions, from Primary through to
Tertiary. Primary $204; Junior Secondary $324; Senior Secondary $504; University
$2000 per annum.
Must be in receipt by year 10 to get it for years 11 onwards through to
University, UNLESS you are homeless. In that case, you can apply after
year 10, subject to having satisfactory school attendance and academic effort,

Transition To Work Program
If
you're a parent, a carer, aged 50 or over and have been out of the workforce for
two or more years, the BRACE
Transition To Work program may be able to help you. You do not need to be on
a Centrelink payment to receive help.
