Neighbourhood Watch Program
Wendouree West is situated in Region 2 Division 3 of Victoria. Region 2 Division 3 is made up of 6 local government areas, namely the Ballarat City Council, Central Goldfields Shire, Pyrenees Shire, Moorabool Shire, Hepburn Shire and the Golden Plains Shire. Neighbourhood Watch is a community based crime prevention program whose objectives are to improve the quality of life within a neighbourhood by minimising preventable crime and promoting closer community ties. The program relies on the community and the Police working together in a partnership to achieve these aims.

Safety House
The Safety House Program is taught in schools and by the police on school visits. Safety House education teaches children self-protection strategies, especially when travelling to and from school. Parents can be involved by reinforcing the Program and pointing out local Safety Houses and signs to their children. A Safety House can be used by children when they are feeling frightened, unsafe, threatened or unsure.
